Fall Dates: Sun Down & Annual General Meeting - Part I; Docks Out
Unfortunately, that time of the season has come where most of us will admit that it is rather unpleasant for sailing (btw, those who can't quite bring themselves to this are reminded that lifejackets have been required at all times since the beginning of September).
Sun Down will be on Saturday, October 15. While this is a key date for Boat Captains - who have to take apart boats and prepare them for winter storage - there will be plenty to do around the property for everyone. Please drop down to help! 1000hrs would be great, but there'll be people there earlier.
Our Annual General Meeting is held in two parts. Part I addresses summary reports on the current year and election of your Executive Board for the next season. Part II addresses the formal financial report and general business. Part I will be held in conjunction with Sun Down on Saturday, October 15. The meeting will begin at 1400hrs. The date and time for Part II will be announced once we know when our financial reports will be ready (year-end is September 30, and reports are prepared by an accounting firm).
Docks Out will be on Saturday, November 5. Docks will be hoisted from the water at all three clubs, beginning at Mooredale (as usual). Westwood members should arrive by 1000hrs to disassemble the docks so they'll be ready to go when the crane get to us. This marks the strongest hint that the season is truly over! Of course, there are those people who have a dry suit and their own boat ... and are prepared to walk into the water to launch.
